Résumé:HIV and AIDS is having an increasing impact on the health and welfare of children and is already ravaging hard-won child survival gains in some of the highly affected countries like Malawi. One of the reasons maybe due to poor management of HIV exposed children by the nurses. The aim of the study is to find out the knowledge, attitude and practices of Kamuzu Central Hospital nurses in the management of HIV exposed children. The main idea of the study to identify the gaps in the management of HIV exposed children so that proper measures can be put in place. This will hence reduce the burden HIV is putting on the health of the children, since they will then be properly managed. This will also improve the quality of life of the HIV exposed children since proper management will reduce frequent health problems the children face. The objectives of the study include assessing the nurses' level of knowledge in the management of HIV exposed children, describing their attitude towards the management of HIV exposed children, identifying the practices nurses render in the management of HIV exposed children and identifying the challenges nurses face in their management of HIV exposed children. This study is going to be a quantitative study, with a sample size of thirty nurses. Data collection will be done using a questionnaire and it will be analyzed using spss. The data will be presented using graphs and pie charts.
