Resumo:This study assessed the knowledge, attitude and perception of clients with hydrocele at Chikwawa District Hospital. The study also wanted to find out why these people with this condition do not come earlier to the health facility despite the problem having complication of male infertility as there might be persistent problems with sperm production as intratesticular temperatures are increased. The study was a qualitative in design. The populations of interest were clients with hydrocele condition at Chikwawa District Hospital. The clients were chosen using convenient sampling. A sample of 10 clients was interviewed using an interview guide to obtain data. The study findings revealed that the clients have knowledge on what hydrocele is but do not know the real cause. These clients also do not go earlier to receive treatment because of fear of being operated on and also others seek treatment from traditional healers.
