description This study was conducted to explore the knowledge, attitudes and practices of people with albinism on skin care. Specifically the areas of interest were: to assess knowledge of albinos on skin care, assess albino client's practices on skin care and to find out problems faced by albinos on skin care. The study was conducted at Kamuzu Central Hospital, Skin clinic. A qualitative research design was used and 10 albino clients were purposely randomly selected. Data was collected through a semi-structured interview guide. All interviews were recorded and transcribed. Data was analyzed using content analysis. Results have been presented in tables and categories. The study has revealed that albino clients have knowledge on albinism and skin care. Despite having knowledge on albinism some lacked understanding on the cause of albinism. Most albinos also face problems in caring for the skin. Some of the problems they face are lack of resources like sunscreens and developing sunburns due to hot weather. Basing on the findings, this study recommends that there is a need for further awareness campaigns on albinism and skin care should be conducted to promote understanding on the causes of albinism. More research work should be done, not much has been done. This will help in providing care that is evidenced based as a result minimizing problems faced by albinos. Dissemination of the results of the study will be through a written report sent to KCH, skin clinic and Kamuzu College of Nursing library for references.
