Developed countries have advanced with strategies to combat the transmission of HIV/AIDS compared to developing countries like Malawi that is struggling to control the transmission of HIV/AIDS because there are so many factors that contributing to transmission of HIV/AIDS among people and lack of resources.
The purpose of this study is to find factors contributing to increased HIV/AIDS prevalence among people of Namalaka in Mangochi district. This will be guided by the Health Belief Model as a conceptual framework.
A quantitative Research method in combination with exploratory and descriptive research design will be used. A sample of 30 participants of 15 years up to 40 years old will be interviewed using interview guide as data collection tool and convenience sampling method
will be used during data collection. Data will be analyzed electronically using Computer Statistical Package for Social Sciences. The permission of conducting the study witl be sought from Kamuzu College of Nursing
Research and Publications Committee and from District Commissioner and District Health Officer in Mangochi. The permission also will be sought from Traditional Authority Makanjira and Village Headman Namalaka.
The results of this study will be used by organizations responsible for HIV/AIDS transmission control like National AIDS Commission and Mangochi District Health Officer to develop behaviour change interventions that will assist to minimize HIV/AIDS transmission among people at Namalaka. |
