Summary:A quantitative descriptive study on the factors that contributes to the non-adherence to anti-retroviral therapy (ART) was conducted at the National Association of People living with HIV/AIDS in Malawi (NAPHAM) in Kawale, Lilongwe District. The purpose of the study was to establish the factors contributing to non-adherence of ARV's among people living with HIV (PLWA). The study used convenient sampling to select participants. The sample had 30 participants which were people living with HIV (PLWA) both males and females. A pre-test was carried out in order to check the clarity, sentence construction, reliability, validity and the time taken for the participants to respond to the questions in the questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of both closed and open-ended questions. Data was collected manually and analysed manually.
